 ballina

Ballina sits beside the Richmond River where it meets the sea.   Just to the west are beautiful, rolling green hills, many supporting tropical plantations of avocados and macadamia nuts. The beaches and coastline are beautiful and unspoiled and the Richmond River offers safe fishing and an interesting way to explore some of the hinterland.

The little villages between Ballina and Lismore are some of the most picturesque on the North Coast and the rolling hills are reminisant of the United Kingdom, except that the climate is subtropical.

The area is popular with tourists but is only crowded during the Christmas and Easter Holidays.   Because of its tourist appeal, you'll find there is lots to see and do when the family visits.   Ballina is well known for its fresh seafood and farming products and supports some excellent restaurants.

Ballina is a modern, progressive town and a very pleasant place to live.   The major health and financial services are in nearby Lismore.
