It is associated with various New Age movements and activities.It is a mecca for overseas and Australian backpackers and all theese young and often unconventional people, certainly give Byron an atmosphere that is unlike any other town on the north Coast. It prides itself on having no traffic lights, no parking metres, no high rise buildings and no multinational fast food chains.
